St Mark's Square

Venice's most famous place certainly has a lot of vacant seats. This is a nice portrait shot of the world renown square on a beautiful Summer's day in 2009.

Up close, the Arc de Triumph is an tall and impressive arch, but a view of this famous Parisian landmark from atop the Eiffel Tower puts it into perspective. This is not, as you might anticipate, the Statue of Liberty who graces the harbour in New York, but rather a photo of the smaller scale version who rests along the river Seine in Paris, France. Our little adventurer bravely navigates the excellent fortress at Commonwealth Park. Shot from a cruise on the Hudson River, this statue - a gift from France - welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and is a national icon. Taken at my parent's house at Christmas time a few years back with a brand new macro lens. The timing was impeccable.
